Things to Do in Hyannis

The Hyannis community is well known for its beaches where you can find plenty to do, including fishing, boating, and just lounging on the shores for a bit of relaxation. Enjoy a day of reeling in the oceans bounty on the high seas with a fishing charter. You can find charter services that offer tours on large boats or you can book a smaller boat just for your group.

Whether you are spending your days relaxing on the beaches while your children play in the ocean waters, strolling the downtown or chartering a boat to watch the seals at play or troll for tonight’s dinner, you’re guaranteed to create a family bonding experience as you explore this scenic village. The Cape’s history is a long and colorful one and the JFK Museum is the perfect place to learn more about our nation’s hero, but this isn’t the only museum in town… the Cape Cod Maritime Museum offers a unique glimpse into the history of boat building, other area museums include the Cape Cod Baseball League Hall of Fame and Museum, The Hyannis HyArts Cultural District, Toad Hall Classic Sports Car Collection, and many more. Beer lovers will find their happy place when they visit, sample, and tour The Cape Cod Beer Brewery and live music connoisseurs can tap their feet and dance in their seats to the live music played at the Duck Inn Pub.  When you get hungry, be sure and stop in the Sea Street Café…it’s our favorite place to go when we want breakfast for dinner!

If you are a fan of live entertainment, you’ll find plenty in Hyannis. The town offers venues that feature everything from Top 40 bands, blues, trivia nights, karaoke, and much, much more. During the summer months, the famous Cape Cod Melody Tent offers shows from legends such as Heart, Vince Gill, and Tony Bennett.

When you are ready to dine, you’ll find everything from quaint street cafes to high-end eateries. You can enjoy flavors from around the world, and of course, the famous seafood offerings. Also, don’t miss the sweets from the ice cream shops and gourmet bakeries!
