Annual Daffodil Festival
Spring wouldn’t be complete without the Annual Daffodil Festival, happening on April 24 in Nantucket. Although technically off the Cape, this iconic festival is well worth the ferry ride and has become a beloved tradition that celebrates the arrival of spring in the most colorful way imaginable.
Decades after its inception, the Daffodil Festival has grown into a full-blown celebration featuring art shows, pet parades, tours, exhibitions, contests, and lectures. The centerpiece of the festival is the Nantucket Garden Club’s Annual Daffodil Flower Show, where thousands of vibrant blooms are on display, showcasing the beauty of spring in all its glory.
It’s a family-friendly event with something for everyone, from kids decorating bikes and wagons to adults enjoying scenic picnics surrounded by fields of daffodils.
10th Annual RUCK4HIT
For those looking for an adrenaline-pumping experience or to support a great cause, the 10th Annual RUCK4HIT is happening from April 25–26, starting and finishing at the Cape Cod Fairgrounds in Falmouth. This epic 200+ mile relay race spans over 30 hours, covering every town on Cape Cod, all in support of Heroes In Transition (HIT), an organization dedicated to helping veterans, service members, and military families.
Teams of seven runners and two drivers take on this grueling course, passing through 70 exchange points as they ruck (run while carrying weighted backpacks) from Falmouth to Provincetown and back. It’s an event that demands physical endurance, mental toughness, and a strong sense of camaraderie.
Even if you’re not racing, the event offers plenty of ways to get involved. Spectators, volunteers, and sponsors are encouraged to join the fun, cheer on participants, and support the cause. The energy is contagious, with communities along the route coming together to celebrate the runners’ dedication and the important mission behind the event.
