Music is integral to human culture, and few things are not improved with the addition of music. So if you really want to get to know a place or are simply looking for a great time, here are a few Cape Cod music venues where you can go to soak up some sounds.

Trader Ed’s

Located in Hyannis, Trader Ed’s is a restaurant with a pool and outdoor patio located right on Hyannis Harbor. It’s the perfect place to watch boats while enjoying super-fresh seafood—two of the best features of Cape Cod. Thursday through Saturday, the Trader Ed’s hosts live music and a dance floor, becoming an excellent waterfront nightclub from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Entertainment is free for guests; the major menu items range lie in the $11 to $19 range.

Liam Maguire’s Irish Pub & Restaurant

Another restaurant featuring live music, Liam Maguire’s is located right on Main Street in Falmouth. With food, beer, and large-screen TVs playing the current hottest games, it’s great already—but it gets better with live music, which it features every Thursday through Monday. The music, free to customers, is, of course, Irish—from newer rock to traditional instruments. And if you’re a real music lover, come on Tuesday for Karaoke night!

Harvest Gallery Wine Bar

While an excellent place in Dennis to stop by for a sandwich, salad, pizza, or some oysters or nachos, Harvest Gallery Wine Bar really shines in its selection of wines. The classy establishment, set up in a repurposed two-story house, also features many works of art, including paintings, collages, sculpture and photography. So, what about the music? The bar features music starting around seven on Wednesday and Thursday, and has two sets on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays, one starting at 6:00 and another at 8:30. With music, sculpture, photography, painting, and wine, it may be the highest concentration of art in Dennis!

Baxter’s Boathouse

Another Hyannis hotspot, Baxter’s is both a Fish & Chips restaurant as well as a 21-and-over boathouse club. Generations-old, it features classic grub such as chicken fingers and mozzarella sticks as well as the seafood dishes that make Cape Cod famous. The club lounge features piano music from Thursdays to Sunday, with the Thursday, Friday, and Saturday performances lasting from 8 p.m. to midnight, and the lineup lasting from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays. With such late hours and a variety of food, Baxter’s is a great place to either start or end a night out.
