Lighting of the Pilgrim Monument in Provincetown, 11/11

Over 400 years ago, the story of our country began with a rock, a few ships, and the people who risked it all to start a new life in a land fraught with danger and filled with possibilities and the lighting of the Pilgrim Monument is the first-holiday event we will discuss, our simple way we pay homage to those brave souls! Taking place on November 11th to commemorate the landing on Plymouth Rock, this year brings back the much-loved in-person ceremony again. Join in the fun as we set the 252-foot tall monument alight and if you have someone you are missing more than normal this year, you can even dedicate a lighting for them. The lights add a festive gleam to the holidays, staying on through the New Year of 2024!

Provincetown Lobster Trap Tree Lighting, 11/25

A unique and vibrant tradition in Provincetown is the Lobster Trap Tree Lighting. This isn’t your typical Christmas tree. Made from over 112 real lobster pots borrowed from local lobstermen, the tree stands tall and proud in the heart of Lopes Square. Adorned with dozens of bows, buoys, plastic lobsters, and thousands of LED lights, the tree rises over two stories high, illuminating the square with its festive glow. It’s a bright and colorful addition that captures the essence of the Cape Cod community and its deep-rooted connection to the sea.

Offering a reading of the book, dancing waiters and chefs, hot chocolate and cookies, and, of course, a visit with the jolly old elf himself, even the most doubting of children will begin to believe once again/ Each child will take home a commemorative sleigh bell, a golden ticket, and a magical memory they will remember forever let your kiddos wear their Christmas jammies to fully experience the magic of your train ride to the North Pole!

Gardens Aglow, Heritage Museums & Gardens in Sandwich, 11/24-12/23

The natural beauty of a Cape Cod winter shines even brighter with a visit to Gardens Aglow, a Christmas experience unlike any you may have experienced before. Stroll through gardens that twinkle with the warm glow of Christmas lights, meet Santa as he hangs out in a 1913 Model T, and stay warm by roasting marshmallows! Also featuring a reindeer scavenger hunt and a beautiful and authentic model train display which is, of course, decked out for the holidays, Garden’s Aglow is a great addition to your holiday adventures.
