Jaws
Jaws was a massive blockbuster, released in 1975 it gained international popularity due to its progressive special effects and story telling. The most recognizable setting from the movie is probably American Legion Memorial Bridge. This bridge offers extraordinary character between the towns of Oak Bluffs and Edgartown on Martha’s Vineyard. This area is so much a part of the story that it is now often referred to as “Jaws Bridge”.
The Finest Hours
Filming for this movie took place in Cape Cod in 2015, and it is very exciting for the residents and Cape Cod enthusiasts alike. This is special because the movie was filmed very close to where the events on which the story is based took place. It is the story of one of the most daring Coast Guard rescue attempts in history that took place in 1952 when two oil tankers were caught in one of the deadliest storms in New England history. One Crazy Summer
This romantic comedy, released in 1986, featuring the talents of Demi Moore and John Cusack was shot on Cape Cod and Nantucket. You may actually spot some locals at the time as extras in the film, as the crew made use of Hyannis West Elementary School for a scene.

This movie from 2003 was shot on Martha’s Vineyard, the fictional birthplace of conjoined twins played by Matt Damon and Greg Kinnear.

Perhaps the most recent film to be shot on Cape Cod, 2016’s Year by the Sea features shots filmed in Brewster, Wellfleet, Orleans, Eastham, and Chatham as it depicts the life of an aging woman as she faces life after her kids leave home.
