Farmers Markets on Cape Cod

One of the quickest ways to get to know a new place is by a visit to their farmers market. Not only do you get the opportunity to bring home some fresh and delicious vegetables, you can observe how the locals really live. Take the opportunity to say hello to the fisherman selling the lobsters caught fresh that morning; maybe he can direct you to the best seafood restaurant in town. Buy some homemade soap from the young couple who are working hard to make it in the world and instantly be transported back to your Cape Cod vacation whenever you use it back home. Or participate in one of our favorite market activities: Grab a lobster roll from the Sesuit Cafe in East Dennis, find a table, and sit back and watch the people who visit these markets as they go about their business. From locals to tourists, this activity never ceases to lose its appeal!

Chatham Farmer Market

Every Tuesday from 3-6:30pm from late spring to fall located just outside the Ocean State Job lot parking area there are 6 local and organic farms, vegetables and fruits, farm fresh eggs, free range pasture chickens, grass fed beef,  pork and lamb, plants, herbs, honey, maple sryup, jams and jellies, olive oil, almond butter, olives and Greek fare right from the farm in Greece, figs and hummus, salsas and sauces, juices, baked goods, pies, cookies, cupcakes and donuts, chocolates and popcorn,  ice cream, sea salts, soaps, flowers and bouquets, Chatham Farmers Market and Shark Swag, herbal bug sprays and body care.  Fresh roasted coffee, cheese and pasta, natural farm grown dog treats, art and more!

Harwich Farmers Market

We’ve hear that this particular farmers market is “community agriculture at its best”  The Harwich market features fresh, locally grown fruits and vegetables, herbs, flowers, plants, home made breads and baked goods, meats, and a wide variety of farm related products.  Come on down any Thursday afternoon from 3-6 p.m., mid-June through mid-October across from Brooks Academy Museum. There may be even live music too.

Bass River Cape Cod Farmers Market

This is one Cape Cod farmers market you can practically walk to from your NEVR rental. It’s well worth the trek. Featuring everything from apples to wreaths, the Bass River Farmers Market is our favorite place to visit for homemade goat milk soap and special treats for our pets!
