You’ll find the Penney Patch on Commercial Street, and they’re open from 10:00 am until 9:00 pm daily. 2. Explore the Whydah Pirate Museum
Located at 674 MA-28 in West Yarmouth, the Whydah Pirate Museum is yet another terrific option for indoor fun when you’re looking to infuse a whimsical experience into your Cape Cod adventure. Here, visitors are invited to browse incredible exhibits and displays featuring artifacts recovered from the wreck of the Whydah Galley, which sank back in 1717. There are a variety of interactive displays to check out as well, and you won’t want to miss time at the on-site Sea Lab, where you can observe centuries-old relics from shipwrecks being restored in real-time. The Whydah Pirate Museum is a must-visit if you love pirate history, and the full-scale replica ship never fails to impress. Stop by any day of the week between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm to see it all for yourself.

3. Put Your Skills to the Test at Upside Down Escape Games

Located at 61 Market Street in Mashpee, this inviting destination is a great place for groups of family or friends to put their creativity and problem-solving abilities to work. Here, there are three themed rooms to enjoy, and each hosts a challenging puzzle that requires you to really think outside the box to complete. These are typically ideal for those 10 and up, and you can try a session on Fridays from 3:00 pm until 9:00 pm, Saturdays between noon and 9:00 pm, and on Sundays from 12:00 pm until 6:00 pm.

4. Step Back in Time at the Edward Gorey House
Whether you’re a writer, an illustrator, or simply a history buff, a trip to the Edward Gorey House during a trip to Cape Cod is certainly worth your while. You’ll find this home-turned-museum at 8 Strawberry Lane in Yarmouth Port, and it’s open for touring on Wednesdays through Saturdays from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm and on Sundays from noon to 4:00 pm. Your time at the Edward Gorey House is a chance to step into the life of the eccentric author, playwright, costume designer, and illustrator for yourself.
As you stroll through the residence, you’ll have opportunities to admire some of his original costumes and drawings as well as a variety of personal collector items. Gorey was certainly known for his macabre wit, and as you wander through rooms featuring everything from bat sculptures and fur coats to misplaced shoes and fake skeletons, it’s not hard to see why. It’s a truly unique stop to add to your itinerary and one that you might want to visit a time or two so you can really take it all in.

5. Enjoy an Afternoon with Family at the Cape Cod Children’s Museum
When you’re traveling to Cape Cod with the kids in tow and looking for an indoor activity that pairs engaging fun and learning, an afternoon at the Cape Cod Children’s Museum is a must. You’ll find this entertaining and insightful destination at 577 Great Neck Road S. in the heart of Mashpee.
