Owners Share Why I Love My Home:
First we fell in love with the history of this home - Built in 1830 as the one room village school house, the building has been a bar, a dress shop and everything in-between. A few years ago, the extensive interior and exterior renovations gave the home the current modern open concept living that is so popular.  Once we spent time there, our favorite place became the oversized deck for outdoor cooking, eating and relaxing.  We've experienced all kinds of nature right from our backyard.  The walk to town is so convenient - the drive only takes a few minutes - and you have access to all things Cape Cod right there - restaurants, shops and museums.  We hope you love the home and location as much as we do - enjoy!

Let Us Tell You About This Home:
Welcome to Swan Cottage!  Located in the heart of Sandwich Village on Mill Creek, you are a short walk/drive/bike to parks, restaurants, the bay and the village center.   Kayak's are available for guests use!!

You enter the home through a quaint wooden screen door - notice the sign that says Green Schoolhouse c: 1830!  The first thing you notice is the open concept that is so inviting.  The second thing - the gorgeous marsh and river views that can be enjoyed from inside and out.  Dogs love the backyard!

The living rooms seats six with a comfy couch and swivel chairs that bring that "beach" feel into the home.  There are beautiful hardwood floors throughout.  A large screen TV is there for viewing your favorite show or catching a game on the weekends. 

The new kitchen offers custom cabinetry in a soothing colonial blue palette, soapstone counter tops, subway tiled back splash, a ceramic farm sink and high end stainless steel appliances including a dishwasher, microwave and a wine cooler / fridge. The oversized island offers 2 stools and 3 chairs for quick breakfast meals while the dining area has seating for six for dinners that can be cooked outside on the gas grill or using the gas Wolf stovetop.

The living room and kitchen have full views from the sliding doors to the new fully furnished deck and patio. A bar cart is offered for those days you want to spend outside enjoying the scenery.  A perfect place to enjoy snacks and a cocktail.  Adirondack chairs and a gazing bench are on the lawn near the shore of the creek where you might see fish swimming or ducks and swans paddle on by.  Mill Creek access allows guests to kayak, canoe or paddle board all the way out to the Sandwich Boardwalk and Cape Cod Bay - right from the back yard! 

There is a main level Bedroom #1 with queen bed, window A/C and a ceiling fan for extra cooling.  Bathroom #1 is in the hallway with a tub/shower combo.

As you make you way to the upper level there's a small den with a daybed (great for stretching out and reading a trashy beach novel!) or taking an afternoon nap.  Window A/C added for the rental season.

The second floor primary Bedroom #2 overlooks the same serene marsh views.  The bedroom has an en-suite full bathroom with glass enclosed shower and a large skylight that lets the natural light in.  The sleeping area also has a king bed with flat screen TV for late night viewing and a ceiling fan.  The full wall mural of the marsh and swans reflects the views you will see from the French door balcony.  There is a separate laundry room with washer and dryer and ample storage and closet space.  There is a ductless A/C system on this level.

Swan Cottage is less than one hour from Boston with easy access to beaches and the Cape Cod Canal.  Inside and out this cottage says Cape Cod and the best it has to offer!!!

PET FRIENDLY HOMES are for a DOG only.  This home allows 1 dog with a $25 per night fee.  With owner approval, a second dog may be considered for an additional $25 per night fee.  A Pet Registration form must be completed upon reservation confirmation.
