Beach living is something most of us only get to dream about, but a vacation in a beachfront cottage is a reality you can afford when you stay in one of our Truro-Provincetown homes for rent. Just imagine, for the duration of your stay, your backyard is the Atlantic Ocean. The sea breeze gently kisses your cheeks each morning as you walk along the sandy shores, the sunset is even more glorious when it falls into the hypnotic waters of the ocean, and the sound of the waves crashing against the beach will lull you to sleep each night. If you can’t live at the ocean every day, taking a vacation getaway to the beach for a week is a pretty good substitute. Keeping Busy in Truro-Provincetown

There are plenty of fun activities to keep you busy during your Cape Cod vacation in Truro-Provincetown homes for rent, and if you enjoy wine, you may not experience any of the other things to do. The Truro Vineyards of Cape Cod offer tastings, tours, and an unbelievable wedding destination spot—if you’re into that type of thing! Oh, and if that special person in your life leans toward the harder drinks, their rum and gin line is dedicated to the spirit of early Cape Cod bootleggers! Provincetown, located at the tip of the Cape is super fun with lots of downtown activity, wonderful restaurants and shops.

Truro Vineyards

Truro Vineyards has been in the Cape Cod town of Truro since 1992. In 2007, it was acquired by the Roberts family, several of whom have extensive experience in the beverage industry, many of whom had always dreamed of owning a vineyard and winery. Truro Vineyards’ wines are made from Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cayuga, Chardonnay, Merlot, Sauvignon Blanc, Vignoles and Zinfandel grapes, as well as from Cape Cod cranberries. The house at Truro Vineyards is a dignified Federal-style house built in 1813 as the farmhouse of John and Hannah Hughes. Once a farm for fruits and vegetables (especially cantaloupes), it now raises grapes—and you should visit here during your Cape Cod sojourn in one of our Truro vacation rentals. The winery is open daily May through November. Tours and tastings are yours from Memorial Day through Labor Day.

Highland House Museum

The Highland House Museum occupies one of Truro’s best-known landmarks: the old Highland House, a hotel built on the Highlands in 1907. Located near the Highland Light in North Truro, it is a classic example of a turn-of-the-century summer resort hotel. A visit to the museum from our Truro house for rent provides fascinating insight into the lives of the people of Truro dating back to early European settlers and the Native Americans that preceded them. The Highland House is owned by the Truro Historical Society, whose goal is to acquire, protect, display, and maintain artifacts of interest to the general public, with special emphasis on the Truro community. Displays will rotate as new items are acquired. Educational and entertainment programs are presented here as well, all in order to expand interest and better understanding of our historical heritage.

Payomet Performing Arts Center

When you’re not charging your batteries in our beautiful rentals in Truro, explore the Payomet Arts Center. While music and theatre performances dominate the season, Payomet’s programming includes several acting classes for children, as well as humanities presentations in the form of lectures, film screenings, and literary evenings. Whenever possible, Payomet creates educational opportunities from their performances by means of audience involvement, panel discussions, and “Meet the Artist” opportunities. Their unique location inside the Cape Cod National Seashore reinforces their commitment to present interpretive historical programs exploring Cape Cod’s natural environment and culture of her native peoples.
