Generally, we write about one town at a time, and although we know that each of the six listed above offers their own distinctive personalities, these towns and villages do share some common qualities, including pristine beaches you won’t want to ever leave. While the Brewster Flats provide large tidal pools to explore and the mansions of Dennis Port provide a stately grace to the landscape, both are also home to warm water beaches and New England Vacation Rentals romantic cottages and homes. Orleans is known for its dramatic military history, being the only US area actually attacked by the Germans in WWII and Eastham is often described as the Gateway to the Cape Cod National Seashore. Yes, we are an island, and yes, you can drive to all the beaches of Cape Cod, and in the summer months, the busy roads and crowded parking lots are a testament to that fact. Some travelers like to take the train to the Cape, leaving their cars behind and staying in one town, perhaps getting around by beach cruiser whenever necessary, but if you did drive and you want to go to the beach, be sure to arrive early in the morning or plan your visit for after 4 PM when most beach goers have left for the day if you want to be able to park your car.
