What Do These Towns Have in Common?
Generally, we write about one town at a time, and although we know that each of the six listed above offers their own distinctive personalities, these towns and villages do share some common qualities, including pristine beaches you won’t want to ever leave. While the Brewster Flats provide large tidal pools to explore and the mansions of Dennis Port provide a stately grace to the landscape, both are also home to warm water beaches and New England Vacation Rentals romantic cottages and homes. Orleans is known for its dramatic military history, being the only US area actually attacked by the Germans in WWII and Eastham is often described as the Gateway to the Cape Cod National Seashore. Truro’s high dunes, estuaries, and grass fringed rivers appeal to the travelers seeking a natural beauty, Provincetown? Well, Provincetown is the most unique of all, is known for its activism, its cultural landscape, and for being a LGBTQ+ friendly. And underneath it all, travelers from all over the world flock to the shores of all these towns, seeking peace, fun, and vacations that will help them relax.
Traveling to Your Beach Vacation on Cape Cod
Yes, we are an island, and yes, you can drive to all the beaches of Cape Cod, and in the summer months, the busy roads and crowded parking lots are a testament to that fact. Some travelers like to take the train to the Cape, leaving their cars behind and staying in one town, perhaps getting around by beach cruiser whenever necessary, but if you did drive and you want to go to the beach, be sure to arrive early in the morning or plan your visit for after 4 PM when most beach goers have left for the day if you want to be able to park your car.
Why a Beach Vacation?
The big city lights, the world-famous landmarks, and the Michelin star rated restaurants can offer a sophisticated vacation experience, but in our opinions, a beach vacation on Cape Cod tops them all. The dress code is swimsuit and bare feet, so you can pack light, the architecture you create will wash away with the tide, and if there is a better meal than fresh lobster boiled in the lobster pots we provide in most of our vacation rentals in Cape Cod, we will eat our hats instead of the buttery crustaceans we love so much. Days at the beach have no rules and maybe one day you will wake up early and walk along water’s edge eagerly awaiting the rising sun and the beauty of the world coming awake around you, while the next you may sleep ‘til 10, saving your oohs and ahs for the show Mother Nature provides at the opposite end of the day, that of the sun falling into the ocean. Hair will be tangled from salty breezes, noses will be pink, and naps will be frequent, whether you are lulled asleep by the music of waves crashing against sandy shores or have drifted off before the conclusion of the movie you are watching, this vacation above all others will leave you well rested and feeling energetic.
The Best Vacations Begin and End with a Beach House on Cape Cod
And then there are our rentals for Cape Cod vacations that will bring you all the comforts of home and the serenity you don’t often find in ordinary vacation homes. Living rooms with fireplaces, televisions, and shelves filled with books will be a refuge of warmth and relaxation on a rainy night and as you gather around our dining tables devouring local seafood, playing board games, and enjoying laughter-filled chats with your family, all will be right in your world. Our fully equipped kitchens allow guests to save a few dollars by eating at home and the food you grill on our provided barbecues will more often than not be fish rather burgers. And each night, as you open bedroom windows to let in the noises of the night and the sounds of the sea before climbing into the most comfortable beds in the state, you may ask yourself why you haven’t planned a beach vacation like this sooner.
