Located in Dennis, Massachusetts, the Cape Cod Museum of Art was founded in the early 1980s by both the sculptor and potter Harry Holl and the artist Roy Freed, who were inspired by Holl’s father-in-law, sculptor Arnold Geissbuhler.

Today, this Cape Cod art museum is curated and operated with the goal of embodying the vibrancy of the culture and artistic livelihood of the region through its focus on collecting, studying, interpreting, and exhibiting works produced by exceptional artists associated with Cape Cod.

The Cape Cod Museum of Art is also dedicated to developing the growth and presence of Cape Cod art and culture in the  region by providing art-related activities and programs to the public. The institution does so in the name of inspiring future artists and art enthusiasts, particularly as they relate to the understanding of Cape Cod’s artistic heritage.
