The living areas maintain the simplistic coastal décor that is found throughout the Bass River vacation rental homes, filled with comfortable coastal furniture, you’ll find yourself rediscovering the joy of naps. A flat-screen television ensures you won’t miss the big game, or makes for a great movie night with the entire family.

Keeping Busy in Bass River

The Bass River area and Yarmouth are all about family, and your days spent here in our beautiful Bass River rentals will be enhanced by trips to the beaches that are only half a mile away. Sand, sun, and water; could you ask for anything more? Of COURSE you can! You will find it at Skull Island with its batting cages, miniature golf, and go karts. Skull Island is only half a mile away!

Bass River (West Dennis) Lighthouse

Some lighthouses decommissioned by the U.S. Coast Guard have been sold to private persons who restrict public access, but this is not the case for Bass River Lighthouse. Shortly after acquiring the lighthouse in 1938, the Stone family began welcoming guests. While it is a bit difficult to recognize the sprawling, sixty-eight-room Lighthouse Inn resort as the former Bass River Light, it is one of but a few lighthouses nationwide where the public can spend the night. Although some years ago it was a motel chain that became famous for humorous ads featuring the quote, “We’ll leave the light on for you,” now it is the Lighthouse Inn that flashes its welcoming light each night for guests and local mariners.

Bass River Beach

Bass River Beach, also known as Smugglers Beach, is located next to where Bass River meets the ocean. It is a large beach great for both swimmers and boaters. There is a large parking lot complete with spots for boat trailers. The beach itself is spacious, with soft sand and a great view. The calm waters are great for young swimmers. Bass River Beach features disabled accessibility, boat trailer parking, a boat ramp, fishing deck, large parking area, fishing pier, snack bar, lifeguards, and bathroom facilities. The beach is also the home to a yearly sandcastle contest, so make sure you check it out if you are in town.

The Cultural Center of Cape Cod

The Cultural Center of Cape Cod is one of the most engaging and accessible cultural organizations in the region. Their mission is to serve the entire Cape community and visitors to the area by offering instruction, entertainment, and exhibition in the visual, literary, and performing arts. Programming at the Center reflects real needs and priorities and is echoed by its motto: All the Arts for All of Us. Perhaps the best example of our response to community is embodied by our new Education Wing, whose Culinary Arts Center, Recording Studio, Pottery Studio, and other assets fill gaps in service, especially for under-served populations. This Cape Cod institution is a great place to start your trip, especially if you love art and culture. Make sure that you check out their calendar of events to ensure you don’t miss one of their iconic events while you are in town.
