Guests can bring their own linens or rent from our Linen Service for an extra fee (Bed Sheets, Bath, Beach and Kitchen Towels)
We offer a 4 pm Check-In and 10 am Check-Out

The Salty Hare is a traditional-style Captain's home only .5 miles from Skaket beach with the bike trail just around the corner. This recently refreshed, dog-friendly home has 4 bedrooms/2 baths on a wooded corner lot and a large wrap-around deck. It has a nice blend of modern amenities and the charm of a historic home. Wifi to keep you connected and A/C mini splits through out the house to keep you cool! Bring the pup, too - they will love the bunnies the home is named for!

Our home seamlessly connects past with present, and provides the perfect balance of a stately colonial home with the coziness of a Cape cottage. Sitting on the porch swing and taking in the beautiful lush greenery that surrounds you is our favorite way to start and end the day. We hope the charm of Orleans enchants you as much as it did us!

Let Us Tell You About This Home:
This charming Captain's home is warm and inviting beckoning you to experience yesteryear with modern amenities. You enter this home by the kitchen. The kitchen is newly remodeled with warm colors and cool tiles, the hammered copper sunken sink adds to the old world charm. The long center island divides the room with 3 bench seats, fridge, microwave, dishwasher and washer/dryer tucked away in the back corner of the kitchen.

Through the kitchen is the formal dining room. Enjoy dining old world style at the beautiful claw foot table. Built in shelves with trinkets from "back in the day" and original windows round out this antique gem.
Bedroom #1 is off the dining room and also has another entrance to the living room. This bedroom has a twin sized daybed with a twin size trundle below, desk for remote working and learning and. The ensuite bath with a large tiled shower is also the bathroom used for the first floor.

Through the dining room is the large living room with a large sectional sofa and a separate sitting area by the antique fire place (no use of fireplace is allowed). Enjoy a book from the built in book shelf or store your belongings in the cedar closet under the stairs.

Head upstairs where you will find a landing and entry to the rest of the bedrooms and bath.

Bedroom #2 is at the top of the stairs and has a queen size bed, dresser, antique steamer trunk. You must walk through this bedroom to gain access to the second bathroom and Bedroom #3.

Bathroom #2 is through bedroom #2 and to the left down a short hall full of built in closets and draws. This bathroom is completely updated with a large deep claw foot style tub on a raised tile floor. The toilet and vanity are separated by a half wall - perfect place to put some candles for a relaxing soak.

Bedroom #3 is across the hall from bedroom #2 and has 2 twin beds, dresser, nightstand. This room enters into Bedroom #4.

A Queen bed and flat screen TV and A/C unit await you along with historic built in cubbies and a cedar closet in the hall to the landing exit. Exit this bedroom right into the staircase landing where you entered the second floor.

The deck wraps around the back of the home with entry from both sides of the kitchen. Share a grilled meal on the large outside table. Don't forget to experience a Cape Cod tradition and enjoy a outdoor shower. This home boasts a large separate shower area with dressing room located off the back of the deck by garage. Fido will love the full yard, too!

DOG FRIENDLY HOMES are for a DOG only. This home allows 1 dog for $25 per night. With owner approval, a second dog may be considered for an additional $25 nightly fee. A Pet Registration form must be completed upon reservation confirmation.
Max parking of cars at property: 3 - No parking on lawn anytime.
